We're Here!

Our prayer leader Teresa prayed for patience and God gave us all an opportunity to work on that! We had a great flight to Atlanta and a quick layover followed by a three hour wait in a HOT plane with little water! But boy was our team ever patient! NO complaining by anyone! ...and Teresa has been directed to stop praying for patience. Finally we arrived in Quito near 2:00 am, collected all of our baggage (all 1500lbs of checked luggage) without a hitch and were on our way.

We stayed the night at a great place, the HCJB housing. Everyone got a good night's sleep and a relaxing morning! Ann made scrambled eggs and we all had hot showers. What more could you ask for!?!

Today we got to visit the Equator where we were able to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at one time. Zero degrees latitude! We did some fun shopping and had a great Ecuadorian lunch as well. Afterwards we visited some other open air markets and are just now stopping in at the Extreme Response World Headquarters to make quick calls and updates. We'll be having dinner in a bit before heading back to HCJB.

Tomorrow we will visit the Quito Dump and daycare center (which by the way was built using Ride for Hope funds coming up on June 28th visit rideforhope.org for more details) before heading to Manta. That will be a nice quick 30 minute flight!

Just a quick FYI, the internet cafe in San Lorenzo went belly up after our team left last year, so we are not completely sure how often we will be able to update the blog. However, we will do the best that we can to keep you all apprised of our work! So keep the posts coming and the prayers too!

We appreciate your support more than you could ever know!

On behalf of the team,

~Jennifer

Hey Paw-- I Hope your soft heart is surviving the trip to the dump today. There is lots of love bottled up in there-- enjoy letting it spill out on those kids. Patients were asking about you today and we shared what you are up to -- Dad was busy chart doodling-- Lisa is at Adagio for their first day of classes -- Karla is in Branson it's their first day of competition. All is good. Hope you are having a great day. Love you!! your mommy xoxoxo
